Christina Concha – Co-founder.
First and most importantly, Christina is the mother of Christopher J.
Concha. After Christopher’s passing she knew her son’s life had a
greater meaning and greater purpose. After experiencing the NICU, the
isolation, the worry, the stress and anxiety as well as the joy of
motherhood, she wanted to reach out to parents to let them know that
there are people who understand all of the emotions. She wanted to make
sure that no parent felt or feels like they are alone during this time.
In order to do this she and her sister, Diana founded The Christopher
Joseph Concha Foundation. Christina is a graduate of Johnson and Whales
University, Providence, RI.
Diana McAlister – Co-founder.
Diana along with her sister Christina quickly laid out the ground work
for the foundation and made it a reality in August of 2005. "There is
so much passion, meaning and excitement behind the Foundation; not only
for my sister but for our whole family. With each year that passes we
grow, meet new people and most important are able to reach out to more
parents. Our growth has been very symbolic in the sense that it is
representative of the growth which Christopher would have experienced;
it’s like watching his life continue." Diana is responsible for the day
to day activities of the foundation and is editor of the I’m in the NICU newsletter.
She is currently working on the expansion of the Foundation’s programs.
Diana received her B.S. from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.
